What is ELARA?

ELARA is portfolio management software purpose-built for family offices and private-capital investors. It consolidates commitments, capital calls, distributions, valuations, ownership, and source documents into a single operating view — with automated IRR, TVPI, and DPI you can trust.

Who is ELARA built for?

Single-family offices replacing spreadsheets, established offices with multi-entity structures, and multi-family offices and RIAs that serve multiple client families. The data model is built around private-markets semantics rather than a generic BI dashboard adapted to finance.

How is ELARA different from Addepar, Masttro, Arch, Asora, or FundCount?

Is ELARA a SaaS product or self-hosted?

ELARA is delivered as a managed cloud product hosted on Microsoft Azure. There is nothing to install — you sign in through your browser.

How much does ELARA cost?

Is pricing tied to my AUM?

No. ELARA uses fixed-tier pricing. Whether you manage $25M or $250M, you pay the same — your cost only changes when your operational needs do.

Is there a free trial?

We don't run a self-service free trial. Instead, we run a guided pilot on a sample of your real portfolio so you can see the platform working on your own data before committing. Request a demo to get started.

What is included in each plan?

Essential includes the core portfolio, performance, and document workspace for a single entity. Professional adds unlimited entities, multi-currency, AI document extraction, and team workflows. Enterprise adds SSO, white-label reporting, resource-level access grants, and inbound email auto-parsing.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade at any time and changes take effect immediately. Reach out if you'd like to discuss right-sizing your plan.

Performance & calculations

How does ELARA calculate IRR, TVPI, and DPI?

Performance multiples and XIRR are calculated automatically using ILPA-aligned conventions and recalculated whenever the underlying cash flows or valuations change. You don't have to manage spreadsheets of flows by hand.

How does ELARA handle multi-currency portfolios?

Each transaction is converted to your organization's base currency using the contemporaneous FX rate for that flow — not a single flat rate applied retroactively. That's the only way XIRR over mixed-currency portfolios is mathematically correct.

Where do the FX rates come from?

ELARA syncs the European Central Bank daily FX feed (the same data European banks use) and stores history back to 1999. You can also set per-organization rate overrides if you have an internal policy.

Can I model multi-entity ownership chains?

Yes. Trust → LLC → Fund structures are first-class. You can see both the full investment view and the attributable, ownership-scaled economics for each entity.

Are performance figures audit-ready?

Yes. Every reported figure is derived from underlying transactions and valuations that remain visible and exportable, and significant mutations are written to an audit log.

Data, documents & AI

How do I get my existing data into ELARA?

Most clients onboard with a combination of CSV/Excel imports for historical activity and AI document extraction for the backlog of capital-call and distribution notices. Our team helps map and validate your data during onboarding.

What does the AI document extraction do?

Upload a capital-call notice, distribution notice, or statement and the AI proposes the structured transaction data for your review. Manual uploads stay in the pending queue until you approve, and every extracted figure stays linked to the source PDF. Enterprise customers can opt into inbound email auto-import for high-confidence statements; lower-confidence items still drop to the pending queue.

Which plan includes AI extraction?

Unlimited AI document extraction is included on Professional and Enterprise. Enterprise adds hands-off inbound email auto-parsing — forward statements to a dedicated inbox and the data flows into your portfolio automatically.

Can I produce ILPA-style reports?

Yes. ELARA supports ILPA-aligned reporting conventions for capital accounts and performance, so you can produce LP-ready outputs without re-keying figures into a separate template.

Security & access

Where is my data stored?

Customer data is hosted on Microsoft Azure in encrypted, access-controlled databases. Connections are TLS-encrypted in transit and storage is encrypted at rest.

How is access controlled?

Access is enforced through three layers: authenticated identity (JWT), role-based permissions, and resource-level grants. Users only see the entities, portfolios, and investments they are explicitly granted.

Does ELARA support SSO?

Yes. SSO (including Microsoft Entra / Azure AD) is included on Enterprise. Essential and Professional use email-and-password sign-in with optional multi-factor authentication.

Is there an audit log?

Yes. Significant mutations — creates, updates, deletes, logins — are recorded to an immutable audit log that admins can review.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your portfolio, transactions, valuations, and reporting outputs at any time. Your data is yours.

Onboarding & support

How long does onboarding take?

A typical Essential onboarding takes one to two weeks once we have your historical data. Professional and Enterprise rollouts with multi-entity structures and bulk document backlogs usually run two to six weeks depending on scope.

Do you help migrate from spreadsheets or another platform?

Yes. Migration support is part of every onboarding — we help map your existing structure, import historical activity, and reconcile opening positions before go-live.

What kind of support is included?

All plans include email support from the ELARA team. Professional adds priority response times and Enterprise adds a named customer-success contact.
